Heritage Theatre Utah believes in education, learning, and the performing arts. That’s why we partnered with Proponent IT of Farr West to sponsor the Heritage Theatre Utah Scholarship Program. The program is designed to encourage and assist students in pursuit of post-high school undergraduate education.

Scholarship Focus

Local graduating High School Seniors who will be majoring in Performing Arts in their post-high school studies. Approved fields of study include Theater Arts, Musical Theater, Theater Education or other related fields.

Award Specifics

One scholarship award of $500 will be granted in 2026.

Scholarship Eligibility

Drauca J. Holmes Scholarship (DJHS) Applicants:

1. Must be graduating from an accredited high school or obtain their GED certification in 2025 no later than June 19, 2026

2. Must be a Utah resident at time of graduation

3. Must have performed in, or been part of the production staff or crew of a Heritage Theatre Utah production

4. Must be accepted to a post-high school undergraduate educational college or university, majoring in a field related to Performing Arts

Application Process

Interested students must complete the Drauca J. Holmes Scholarship (DJHS) 2025 application form and submit to DJHS Chair, Michael Combe.

Postmark deadline May 24, 2026. Submit by Email using instructions on the next page.

Copy of school transcript is not required for this scholarship. However, current GPA and School administration phone number are required items on the application form.

All information received is considered confidential and is reviewed only by Heritage Theatre Utah DJHS committee.

Obligations

Scholarship recipients have no obligation to Heritage Theatre Utah. However, they are required to submit an acceptance letter, with anticipated use dates and a Thank You letter to Proponent IT. Student must also provide proof of enrollment or request for deferment to Heritage Theatre Utah DJHS committee Chair.

Scholarship Recipient Selection

Scholarship recipient is selected on the basis of:

• Academic record

• Participation in Heritage Theatre Utah productions and other productions

• Participation in school and community activities

• Goals and aspirations stated in the application

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipient is made by DJHS committee and ratified by Heritage Theatre Utah Board of Directors. All information to determine a student’s merit is obtained from the completed application and school inquiries as necessary.

Obtaining Scholarship Award

To be eligible to receive this Scholarship Award, recipient must submit an Acceptance letter to the DJHS committee Chair, Michael Combe and a Thank You letter to Proponent IT no later than May 15, 2026. Failure will result in Scholarship being awarded to next qualified applicant.

Heritage Theatre Utah will mail a one-time payment of $500 to the DJHS recipient’s home address on the application form. The check will be made payable upon the following conditions:

1. Proof of enrollment, such as tuition receipt, into a college or university

2. Must provide proof of enrolled into a college or university before August 31, 2026. A deferment request can be requested by submitting a letter to DJHS committee Chair, Michael Combe before August 31, 2026.

Administration

The DJHS award is objectively administered by the Heritage Theatre Utah DJHS committee. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin. Awards are restricted to individuals who, at minimum, meet the criteria defined in the Scholarship Eligibility section above.

Heritage Theatre Utah reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time, including termination of the program. This document is not controlled when printed or downloaded.
